Earth Day and Climate Change ideas

I will discuss the creation of Earth Day. I have prior knowledge regarding the purpose of Earth Day and the relevance of climate change, but I do not know as much about the creation of Earth Day and I look forward to learning more about how Earth Day was created and the hopeful impacts that this has had in relation to climate change and positive impacts for our planet. In my personal history, I have learned some information regarding Earth Day from celebrating it in school, but that has mostly been generic information of the importance of planting trees and going outside for an hour per day. I am looking forward to learning about what the intentions for the creation of Earth Day and how these plans have actually impacted Earth and if any, in what ways.

Assumptions that I have about Earth Day are more negative as I have seen certain events in place to work to create a healthier planet, but with the rise of mass market companies producing millions of products and most plastics taking as long as they do to break down, we are dealing with climate change escalating and multiple negative effects on our weather and seasons. I also think about the mass amounts of plastic in the ocean and natural garbage and litter on most beaches and in parks, and I recognize that more genuine efforts need to be in place so as to better help keep our planet healthy and safe enough to sustain human life.

Conclusions that I have inferred regarding the creation of Earth Day are that it was created to market the idea that we all need to do our part in making the planet a better place for everyone living on it. I know that Earth Day also promotes the idea of recycling and being conscious of the non recyclable goods that people use and being mindful of the carbon footprint that we have in using the products that we do. Large corporations are amongst the largest contributors to waste and carbon emissions, and while it is important to make the general population aware of the wastes that they may contribute to our climate crisis as well, it is equally important to hold large corporations such as Amazon accountable for the pollution and plastic and goods waste that they populate in the mass consumptions of their products.

This topic of the creation and importance of Earth Day is extremely important to our present day lives and society. As scientists continue to warn the population about how climate change and pollution is impacting our planet, it is crucial that more people take action and become aware of swift action that needs to take place in order to save the planet for future generations. It is also important that as new technology and earth friendly products become available that people remain open minded and informed to adapt to these changes that can potentially have a big impact on reducing waste and one use plastics. Not only is it important for humans to keep the earth alive and clean for future generations of people, but we have created a mess and problem for natural ecosystems and wildlife that have adapted to living around masses of plastics and garbage, and this has caused toxic habitats and loss of life. This relates to the creation of Earth Day because perhaps the idea of setting aside a day to celebrate our planet earth can also inspire others to do what they can to make a change for the betterment of the world.

This topic matters to our present day situation and predicament as climate change continues to impact our planet and it is important to be aware and do all that we can to create a healthier world for all. It is also important to be aware of this more than just one day out of the year, and hopefully as I continue to learn more about this topic I will also learn about actions that have taken place to help make our world better, and I am also hopeful that plans will be implemented in the near future to help address the plastic islands in the ocean and other natural disasters caused by pollution and waste that humans have created. The creation of Earth day and its present day relevance is an important topic to us now more than ever and I look forward to learning more about the creation of Earth Day and the future of addressing climate change and pollution to combat the spread of wastes and nonrecyclable goods.
